Safety Advisor

CORE Safety Group is a nationwide safety management and loss control consultant. We are seeking local Safety Advisors for a 2 year long assignment in the Hutto, TX area to provide oversight on a construction project. The Safety Advisor will be responsible for identifying issues regarding safety matters at the project site and ensuring compliance with Federal, State, Local, and owner safety requirements.
Successful candidates should demonstrate the following:
Applicant should have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate in speech and writing with members at all levels throughout an organization; strong writing skills with the ability to interpret safety standards; excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with diverse personalities. Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and display a high level of organizational skills.

Job Description:
Hours: Monday through Friday 6:30am – 5pm /- with some weekend coverage, as necessary.
1. Employee orientation and training;
- Safety orientations: Conducting safety orientations for workers before they commence work on the project, ensuring they are aware of potential risks and safety protocols.
- Training and coaching: Educating employees on health and safety matters, emphasizing accident prevention, and providing guidance on best practices.
2. OSHA compliance for worksite Client employees and sub-contractors;
- Documentation verification: Verifying and reviewing submitted Daily Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and other relevant documentation from subcontractors to ensure compliance.
3. Oversight of weekly safety meetings;
- Safety meetings: Assisting in the organization and facilitation of daily and weekly safety meetings to promote awareness and collaboration among the team, including subcontractors and trade partners.
4. Participation in project meetings;
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, fostering positive relationships with subcontractors and trade partners to ensure a collective commitment to safety practices.
5. Daily worksite presence and safety inspections
- Safety inspections and audits: Performing and documenting weekly safety inspections, as well as conducting weekly and monthly audits to identify potential hazards or areas that require improvement.
- Workplace inspections: Conducting thorough evaluations of project work environments, practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risks and ensure adherence to safety guidelines.
7. Manage and report on all incident investigations;
- Incident investigation: Conducting thorough investigations of incidents and accidents to determine their root causes and identify preventive measures.
8. Communicate with all Client and sub-contractor personnel on safety compliance expectations and make recommendations to Client designated personnel when necessary.
- Continuous improvement: Driving continuous improvement in organizational safety, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing measures to prevent incidents and accidents.
- Implementing health and safety plans in accordance with legal guidelines.
