Autonomously performs complex diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures for patients of all ages under the supervision of qualified physicians for diagnosis treatment and prevention of disease. Diagnostic sonographers take the initiative to confirm the imaging orders for completeness and accuracy. Reviews patient history and supporting clinical data for medical necessity. Responsible for contacting the ordering physician if an inadequate reason for test is supplied. Sonographers utilize advanced knowledge to perform diagnostic procedures (inpatient and outpatient settings including portable and O.R. examinations) by producing assessing and evaluating ultrasound images and related data. Sonographers are required to exercise independent judgment in the interpretation and analysis of exams and provide a preliminary diagnosis of the technical findings to the physician.
Evaluate on a case by case basis / confirm with hiring manager : Must be ARDMS registered (or registry eligible) in the areas of abdomen obstetrics / gynecology (OB / GYN) and vascular technology (RVT).
Must have an Associate's degree in a related field and a graduate of a CAAHEP accredited sonography program. Incumbents hired into the role prior to February are required to meet the previous requirements of graduating from an accredited sonography program.
ARDMS registered and BLS required
Vascular, Abdomen, OB / GYN and Breast registries preferred

Monday-Friday 8 or 10 hour shifts, 7 : 00am - 5 : 00pm, 7 : 00am - 3 : 30pm or 8 : 00am - 4 : 30pm. Call is assigned as a rotation with weeknights starting at 5 : 00pm - 7 : 00am. On call every 8th weekend starting Friday at 5pm through Monday at 7am. Must be able to respond to call within 30 minutes.
