Travel Ultrasound Technologist Job Description
Job Summary
An experienced ultrasound technologist is sought for a travel position in Austin, Minnesota. The successful candidate will perform complex diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures under the supervision of qualified physicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Autonomously performs diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures for patients of all ages;
- Takes the initiative to confirm imaging orders for completeness and accuracy;
- Reviews patient history and supporting clinical data for medical necessity;
- Contacts the ordering physician if an inadequate reason for test is supplied;
- Produces, assesses, and evaluates ultrasound images and related data;
- Exercises independent judgment in the interpretation and analysis of exams and provides a preliminary diagnosis of technical findings to the physician.
Requirements
- Must be ARDMS registered (or registry eligible) in abdomen, obstetrics/gynecology, and vascular technology;
- Must have an Associate's degree in a related field and a graduate of a CAAHEP accredited sonography program;
- ARDMS registration and BLS certification required;
- Vascular, abdomen, OB/GYN, and breast registries preferred;
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
