What are the responsibilities and job description for the Developer position at Core Technology Solutions?
Seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer for a Long Term Contract (Minimum 12 months). This is a Hybrid position with an expectation of 2 days on site in Columbia, SC. This is a W2 position that requires US Citizenship. No C2c or 3rd party candidates.
Typical work day is 8am-5pm EST, but a slight flexible schedule can be accommodated as long
as core hours of 9am-3pm are included. OT/weekends as needed, on call rotation
What you will do in this role:
- Coding from technical specifications, testing changes, performing peer code walkthroughs, debugging issues, and migrating through system all the way to production.
- Responsible for analysis, design, programming, and implementation of complex applications tasks and projects. Devise feasible, logical procedures to resolve business problems through the use of computer resources.
- Formulate scope and objectives through research to develop or modify complex systems. Review detailed specifications and recommend modifications.
- Design, code, test and debug complex application programs.
Skills/Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree-in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job-related degree, or additional job related work experience.
- 6 years of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience. COBOL/APS, mainframe/enterprise systems.
- Nice to Have: Health Insurance background, 837 or other X12 transactions, NDVR/TSO, DB2/IMS, CICS transactions.
- Soft Skills: Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with government deadlines, able to work as part of a team with good communication skills and collaboration, self-motivated to perform thorough analysis.
