Job Summary:
The Associate Director, Development position is a frontline fundraising professional responsible for the management of a pool of prospects, comprised of alumni, parents and friends, with the capacity and inclination to make leadership annual gifts with a primary focus on Ithaca College’s Blue & Gold Giving Society. Performance metrics include donor acquisition, renewal and upgrades, number of visits per year, referrals to major gift pipeline, number & dollar of gifts solicited, number & dollar amounts of gifts closed. Prospect management includes discovery, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
Job Responsibilities
Bachelor's degree and three years directly related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience; strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively work and interact respectfully within a diverse and inclusive environment; a strong commitment to higher education; demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships; experience working with volunteers and a proven track record of collaboration in a team environment; the ability to speak credibly about higher education and IC's mission and vision; ability to develop relationships with individuals in a broad range of professions; ability to travel extensively and attend college functions during and after normal business hours; deep personal integrity and strong work ethic are required.
This position is 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
This position requires travel.

Job Responsibilities
- Manage a pool of leadership annual giving prospects to include discovery, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Performance metrics will focus on donor acquisition, renewal and upgrades, number of visits per year, referrals to major gift pipeline, number & dollar of gifts solicited, number & dollar amounts of gifts closed.
- In conjunction with the Senior Director of Development and Associate Vice President, establish prospect management goals for visits and solicitations. Travel regularly to develop and strengthen prospect relationships.
- Collaborate with college partners including within the Division of Advancement, faculty, and senior leadership to develop meaningful engagement opportunities for leadership annual giving prospects as appropriate.
- Maintain active management strategies for all prospects and ensure thorough and accurate recording of reports on all visits and other prospect activity in the database.
- Participate in a wide range of events on and off campus and effectively engage prospects with events in strategic ways, including Alumni Weekend, Homecoming Weekend, campus visits, commencement, dedications, recognition events, regional programs and more.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and management of volunteers for the various opportunities (for example: peer-to-peer solicitation efforts). Work with volunteers on special initiatives.
- Develop and demonstrate a multicultural awareness and contribute to cultivating an inclusive, diverse and respectful College community. Demonstrate civil and inclusive behavior when interacting with staff, faculty, students and visitors to the College. Promote a flexible, collaborative and inclusive work and living environment and engage in educational opportunities to increase awareness and understanding of diversity and inclusion.
