We’re now seeking a Bilingual Information Services Representative for the Vail Transportation Center booth, located in Vail, Colorado to help deliver exceptional service and ensure rider satisfaction. Compensation will reflect qualifications, with a competitive hourly pay range of $21.78/hr to 29.41/hr.

BILINGUAL INFORMATION SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE

We’re looking for someone who thrives in providing exceptional customer service and excels in a fast-paced, public-facing environment. As a Bilingual Information Services Representative, you’ll be at the heart of our customer interactions, ensuring that our riders receive the information they need in a friendly, clear, and effective manner. You’ll help with schedules, service updates, and assist with technical issues – all while speaking both Spanish and English to serve our diverse community.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Customer Service & Rider Support (50%)

  • Serve as the first point of contact for riders, providing helpful and accurate information about schedules, routes, and services in person, by email, and by phone.
  • Stay up to date on schedules and service changes, assisting riders with trip planning and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Process bus passes and handle financial transactions accurately.
  • Manage the Core Transit email inbox and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Assist with creating and sharing updates via digital channels such as websites, apps, and social media.
  • Offer technical support for digital tools like fare systems and apps.
  • Coordinate lost and found items and reunite them with their owners.
  • Maintain records and report rider feedback to improve services.

Digital Engagement (20%)

  • Assist in creating bilingual content for social media, print platforms, and community updates.
  • Capture photos and videos to enhance engagement.

Community Outreach & Event Management: (10%)

  • Assist with planning and executing rider-focused events.
  • Represent Core Transit at community events, promoting public transit options.

Administrative & Reporting Support:(15%)

  • Maintain organized workspaces and inventory and assist with data entry related to ridership and sales.
  • Ensure the availability of brochures, maps, and other materials.

Emergency & Safety Responsibilities: (5%)

  • Provide timely updates to riders during service disruptions.
  • Follow safety protocols, report hazards, and ensure the proper use of equipment.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in development opportunities to enhance customer service and transit knowledge.
  • Contribute ideas to improve marketing campaigns, events, and outreach initiatives.

CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Required:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Friendly, service-oriented, and eager to learn about public transit.


Highly Preferred:

  • Minimum six months of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in digital tools, social media management, and basic graphic design (Canva experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).


EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School graduate or equivalent.

LOCATION & COMMITMENTS:

  • This position is based at the Vail Transportation Center booth, located in Vail, Colorado which operates seven days a week. The role requires working 40 hours per week within the booth's operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Scheduling will be determined based on operational needs.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This role involves prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and occasional bending or lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • The work environment includes moderate noise, high foot traffic, and occasional outdoor exposure when interacting with riders.
  • Clear vision and hearing are required to assist customers both in person and on the phone.
  • This role requires fluency in both English and Spanish to effectively assist our diverse customer base.
