Job Summary
The Pump Repair Specialist & Rebuild Specialist is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding various types of pumps, including centrifugal, positive displacement, diaphragm, and submersible pumps. The role requires in-depth knowledge of pump systems, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and restore equipment to optimal working conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough inspections of pumps and related systems to identify issues.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems affecting pump performance.
- Use diagnostic tools, gauges, and instruments to evaluate equipment conditions.
- Disassemble pumps and assess components for wear, damage, or defects.
- Repair or replace damaged parts such as impellers, seals, bearings, shafts, and casings.
- Perform precision machining, welding, and fabrication as needed for repairs.
- Completely rebuild pumps to factory specifications or client requirements.
- Reassemble pumps, ensuring alignment, tolerances, and proper functionality.
- Test repaired or rebuilt pumps under various operating conditions to verify performance.
- Document test results and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with customers, engineers, and supervisors to determine repair needs and timelines.
- Provide technical advice and recommendations for pump system improvements.
- Train team members and customers on proper pump handling, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Adhere to company safety protocols and regulatory standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly.
