Job Summary:
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) will be in the microbiology laboratory preparing samples for culture and maintaining laboratory equipment. The MIT will also be responsible for quality control and data analysis. *20-25 hours a week*
Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Responsibilities):
- Processes plates and handles urine, stool and other biological samples.
- Micro Lab : Set up cultures, Set up AST and isolates/identifies specimen suitable for testing on BD Instrument.
- Follow SOP, quality control and HIPPA procedures to perform job duties.
- Attention to details and ability to follow procedures.
- Willing to learn new cutting-edge technology.
Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities):
- Good working knowledge of fastidious organisms
- Experience with biochemical testing for microbes
- Experience in laboratory medicine and quality control
- Good working knowledge of Phoenix epicenter
- Knowledge of BD M50 and its maintenance preferred
Requirement:
- Associate in Medical Lab Technology
- ASCP or AMT certification
- Must be attending or graduated from a certified Medical Laboratory Technician program.
- Must be eligible to take the laboratory certification within 2 years of graduation.
