Mental Health Therapists at CoreCivic plan and provide non-medical clinical mental health services to offenders.
This part-time position regularly works less than 30 hours per week.
The ideal candidate will be able to perform all job functions consistently with actual performance requirements.
- Conducts mental health screenings and assessments based on available records and clinical interviews.
- Confers with other clinical staff to ensure integrated treatment activities and patient care follow-through.
- Provides treatment to offenders by developing, implementing, and modifying individual treatment plans.
- Documents treatment and evaluation activities in the healthcare record.
- Consults with security staff, unit staff, and facility management regarding behavior and mental health issues.
- Provides appropriate mental health assessments, counseling, and confrontation avoidance interventions.
- Administers mental status exams or uses psychological tests as necessary.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, mental health counseling, or a related clinical area.
- Five years of clinical experience, including two years in a comparable position.
- Current certification or licensing is required.
- A valid driver's license is preferred.
- Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 21 years old.
