We prioritize care and support for individuals at our facility. As a Treatment Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating lasting change in the lives of offenders, setting high standards of care in the industry.
To succeed in this position, you will perform the following essential functions:
- Conduct thorough interviews and assessments to identify individual and group needs, gathering data using standardized screening and assessment instruments.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in accordance with state regulations and CoreCivic partner agencies, utilizing offender assessment information.
- Foster a supportive environment, promoting positive attitudes and coping mechanisms to encourage ongoing recovery and participant engagement in the treatment process.
- Maintain confidentiality of clinical files, adhering to written protocols and prevailing laws and regulations.
- Monitor inmate progress, tracking treatment plans and reviewing status to ensure completion of therapeutic programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field is required.
- One year of experience in mental health or substance use counseling is mandatory.
- Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.
- Licensure/certification (where applicable) and a valid driver's license are also required.
- Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
