JOB PURPOSE: The intern will have the opportunity to work on projects involving spray drying technology and other innovative processes to develop and improve our diverse portfolio of products. This position will provide hands-on experience in product development, process optimization, and analytical testing while contributing to the overall growth and success of the company.

Duration: June 2025 - December 2025

Travel: Up to 5% (tradeshows, training)

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Strategic planning, sales planning, collaborating with others:

• Assist in the formulation and optimization of dry ingredient products, with a focus on spray drying techniques.
• Conduct laboratory experiments to test new formulations, process conditions, and ingredient combinations.
• Analyze and interpret data from experiments to provide insights and recommendations for product improvement.
• Collaborate with senior R&D staff to develop new methods for enhancing product quality and process efficiency.
• Support process scale-up activities, ensuring smooth transition from lab-scale to pilot-scale or commercial production.
• Conduct physical and chemical analysis of raw materials and finished products.
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and documentation related to R&D findings.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and scientific research related to dry ingredients and spray drying.
• Participate in cross-functional team meetings to support product development from concept to commercialization.
  
  
  

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Strong interest in food processing, spray drying, and product development.
• Basic understanding of spray drying technologies and related unit operations (e.g., drying, mixing, milling).
• Experience with laboratory techniques and equipment, particularly in the areas of product formulation and analysis.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., MS EXCEL) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
