What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Manager position at Corel Haven LLC?
Corel Consulting is a fast-growing provider of HR, Recruitment, and Payroll solutions tailored to small and mid-sized businesses. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven individual to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow with the company, starting as both a Business Development Manager / Account Manager, and transitioning into a full-time Business Development Manager position as the company scales.
Role Overview:
Initially, you will wear two hats: focusing on business development by generating new sales opportunities and acquiring new clients, and simultaneously managing existing client relationships to ensure satisfaction, retention, and the identification of upsell opportunities. As our business grows, your focus will shift exclusively to business development, with a dedicated Account Manager handling the ongoing client relationships and account management.
Key Responsibilities (Initial Role):
-
Business Development (Lead Generation & Prospecting): Identify and engage potential clients through research, networking, and cold calling. Build a robust sales pipeline.
-
Sales Presentations & Proposals: Conduct sales meetings, communicate the value of Corel Consulting’s HR, payroll, and recruitment solutions, and tailor proposals to client needs.
-
Account Management: Act as the primary point of contact for new and existing clients. Ensure client satisfaction by managing day-to-day communication, resolving issues, and identifying new opportunities.
-
Sales Cycle Management: Manage the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation to closing the deal.
-
Client Retention & Upselling: Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with clients to ensure repeat business, referrals, and opportunities for upselling additional services.
-
Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth transitions for clients and deliver exceptional service.
Transition Phase (Future Role):
As Corel Consulting continues to grow and bring on additional team members, the focus of this role will evolve. Once an Account Manager is hired to take over client relationship responsibilities, you will transition into a purely Business Development Manager role, focusing exclusively on sales, lead generation, and prospect acquisition. At this point, your primary responsibilities will be:
-
Lead Generation & Prospecting: Continue to generate and qualify new business leads.
-
Sales Presentations & Negotiations: Conduct presentations, negotiate contracts, and close deals.
-
Sales Strategy: Contribute to the development and execution of sales strategies that align with business goals and growth objectives.
-
Collaboration with Account Managers: Work closely with the new Account Manager to ensure a smooth transition for clients from sales to post-sale service.
Requirements:
-
Sales & Account Management Experience: Minimum of 2 years in business development or sales, with experience in account management or client-facing roles.
-
Proven Track Record: Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and manage client accounts effectively.
-
Self-Starter: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
-
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
-
Tech-Savvy: Proficient in using CRM systems, LinkedIn, and other sales and prospecting tools.
-
Adaptability: Comfortable with transitioning between roles as the company grows, and able to manage both business development and account management responsibilities initially.
Compensation:
This role starts as a hybrid position (Business Development Manager & Account Manager) with a competitive commission structure. As you transition into a full-time Business Development Manager, you will continue to enjoy a commission-based structure with uncapped earning potential. Over time, there is potential for a shift to a base salary commission model as you focus entirely on business development.
