JOB SUMMARY
The Data Analyst is responsible for processing chemical tracer and onshore spectral gamma ray data into client deliverables at a level of full independence and technical competence. With appropriate training and support, the Data Analyst will also process offshore spectral gamma ray and density data into final deliverables and will be able to explain and interpret all of the above products to internal and external clients as needed. The Data Analyst will take a lead role in the training and development of Data Specialists and less experienced Analysts and will contribute technical expertise to one-off and longer term projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Offshore Spectral Gamma/Density
Logging:
With assistance and continuing training, process
all offshore logging data into final client deliverables within the
expected 2-4 hour turnaround time.
Have sufficient understanding of the log to be
able to answer any processing questions from internal or external clients
and develop understanding of the interpretation of the log.
Onshore Spectral Gamma Logging:
With complete independence, be able to accurately
and quickly process all spectral gamma ray and pressure/temperature logs
into all standard client deliverables.
Have sufficient understanding of the log to be
able to explain the processing as well as interpret the final results to internal
and external clients.
Be able to modify standard deliverables as well as
create new ones from scratch as required to meet client needs.
Chemical Data:
With complete independence, be able to process chemical
tracer data into standard reports as well as all ancillary deliverables
(nSIGHT, communication matrices, log plots, etc) at a high level of
accuracy and speed.
Independently identify and troubleshoot any
problems with the data itself or the processing of same.
Other Duties:
Take a lead role in training and supporting less
experienced employees in chemical data and onshore spectral gamma log
processing.
Assist in training and supporting less experienced
employees in offshore spectral gamma/density log processing.
As needed, assist in or take full ownership of one-off
and longer-term projects that fall outside the scope of routine daily
work.
EDUCATION AND/OR
EXPERIENCE
2- or 4- year degree, preferably
in a petroleum-related field. Equivalent experience considered in lieu of a degree. High School Diploma required.
Intermediate proficiency in
Excel, including using and troubleshooting VBA macros required.
Upstream oil & gas experience
strongly preferred.
Basic level in any of: VBA,
Python, SQL strongly preferred.
Prior experience in log
acquisition/processing or chemical tracers preferred.
Experience creating and
maintaining tools/dashboards in PowerBI preferred.
