Scope:
The Telecommunications Specialist will work directly with the Telecommunications Branch Manager.
This includes, but is not limited to performing the following duties:
- Work in Call Center Environment.
- Program and coordinate the installation of new telephone lines.
- Ensure successful coordination with client Telecom staff and Avaya to ensure all requested installations are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Voicemail Administration.
- Process orders.
- Monitor and maintain the client owned exchange numbers for exclusive use by the client entities.
- Troubleshoot both landline and wireless issues.
- Assist with processing on average 250 wireless orders a month.
- Complete requests for wireless rate plan changes and disconnects
- Make inventory and billing updates to the Expense Management System (EMS).
- Provide billing assistance.
- Perform periodic rate plan analysis for wireless customers.
- Assist with any transition related activities including reviewing floor plans, participating in New Member Orientation, training, and onsite support.
- The ability to work as a team player and independently as the need arises and capable of making decisions that align with the mission of the department.
- The candidate demonstrates willingness and cooperation in participating in matrix managed projects.
- Maintains professional relationships with customers, management, colleagues and vendors
Candidate meets the below requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Requires at least 3 years of demonstratable experience providing both technical and administrative landline and wireless telecom support in a large campus environment.
- Must have programing experience with the Avaya CM 8.1 system.
- Must have experience with Avaya Aura Voicemail system
- Strong Microsoft applications skills; specifically: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in Helix/Smart IT
- Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to work effectively with multiple departments.
Notes:
Work hours: 40 hours per week; 8 hours per day
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
