Position Summary :
The client is looking for a Tool and Die Maker to be responsible to repair, build and maintain progressive tungsten carbide lamination stamping dies and metal forming dies in compliance with production standards and safety regulations to ensure the highest quality of parts produced, showing an in depth knowledge of metal work and engineering, must possess a great eye for detail and should be able to easily translate ideas that can have a positive impact of the stamping manufacturing process. Tool and die Makers must know how to build fixtures, read and interpret blueprints and schematics, they must adhere to client policies and procedures, safety training and hazard communication information provided, which includes but is not limited to wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hat, face shield, safety glasses, hearing protection and safety steel toe shoes.
Responsibilities :
Reading and Interpreting Blueprints, design schematics and CAD drawings.
Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances.
Design jigs and templates as supports in the fabrication of parts.
Setting up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines.
Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions.
Grinding carbide and steel to ensure a smooth finish.
Assemble and disassemble tools and die parts supporting the production areas to guarantee tools are repaired on time to ensure the continuous production and increase plant productivity.
Inspecting tools and dies for defects, perform repairs and conduct test runs with completed tools and dies.
Support our culture of sustained continuous improvement programs with the client organization (5S-SMED-KAIZEN).
Support Tooling Efficiency Improvement and Scrap Reduction Projects.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures for Die Repairs.
Entering data into SAP.
Requirements :
10 Years experience as Tool and Die Maker
Progressive Stamping Operation experience (Carbide Lamination Dies) preferred.
Extensive experience with metal working tools including drills, milling machines, grinders and lathes.
In Depth knowledge on Troubleshooting in Die Operation and Die Assembly.
Ability to lift heavy objects and experience on handling carbide tooling.
Experience with quality control analysis.
Proven experience using measuring tools (Calipers, Micrometers, Scales, Height Gages).
Excellent attention to detail.
Advanced troubleshooting and problem solving skills by detecting potential problems before they happen.
Excellent communication skills and working with teams.
Autonomy, extensive experience working with engineers and machinists and working with little supervision.
Extensive experience in metallurgic knowledge understanding the properties of metals.
Proven mathematical ability making complex calculations using geometry, trigonometry and algebra.
Microsoft Software (Office, Excel).

3rd Shift – 11pm to 7 am
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.83 - $38.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
