Job Description :
Act as a technical liaison between business, development teams, and support. Designs, develops, implements, and maintains major and / or mission critical applications. Accepts individual responsibilities and meets commitments while delivering value to application solutions and customer / user requests. Participate in business requirements and functional requirements gathering, which involves a review of existing systems and develop high level design / AAO (Application architecture Overview) and maintain changes in application architecture repository, mitigate risks by proactively keeping team aligned with business requirements, impact analysis, early detection, remediation, and escalation of problems. Work with other development teams or SMEs for application development or integration across the globe and align development tasks with them. Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices and improving performance. A high level of commitment is expected due to the costs of projects and regular tight deadlines, particularly in small to large sized projects. Maintenance proactive monitoring of the Application environment, Availability, Performance, Space, disk space, log files, technical management functions like Start and stop application, commissioning and decommissioning of Application, instance creation, produce capacity planning reports based on current database growth pattern and collaborate with application IT team to forecast database growth and convert these forecasts into Application capacity requirements. Managed code and Data Base migrations from development through to production environments. Participate in an Agile / Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software release.
- Hybrid work is permitted. When not working from home, must report to Irving, TX office.
Job Qualifications :
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, or closely related field plus ten (10) year of experience in the job offered or closely related occupation.
REQUIRED SKILLS : Must possess expertise / knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise / knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education. Such expertise / knowledge cannot be "quantified" by "time." Required expertise / knowledge includes : Knowledge of COBOL programming to develop and Maintain the Tax Core Applications along with experience using Oracle and Linux; Experience with BPE and TPE products as well as related utilities including FileMap, File-Triggers, and TSF to maintain the security, batch processing environment; Experience with Mainframe Technologies including JCL and SYNCSORT to handle the flat files in BPE; Experience with GCP or related cloud environment to Maintain the TAX infrastructure; Knowledge of J2CORE Services including API integration (i.e., SOAP,REST API) to integrate with Various TAX Internal applications; Knowledge of Shell Scripting, Pearl programming, Jenkins, and Github to manage the release management and automation of the reporting; Knowledge of Oracle DB and experience writing SQL scripts.
