Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our facilities.
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for keeping the agency's buildings in good physical condition.
- Assist in maintaining the heating, electrical, plumbing and security systems as required by all city state and insurance codes.
- Plan and Carry out all carpentry, electrical, heating, plumbing or construction (masonry, roofing) repairs.
- Maintain buildings of both a residential and commercial/industrial nature.
- Undertake, coordinate, and assist in renovations required to update the present physical conditions of the agency's buildings.
- Maintain all machines and mechanical equipment in good working order, set up and/or update machine functions as required.
- Be assigned a pager so as to be able to respond to emergencies on nights/weekends at any agency building.
- Engage in painting, landscaping and any other such tasks as to insure the best physical condition of agency properties.
- Maintain all shrubbery, ornamental trees, flower beds, and flower boxes on agency property to include: Weeding
Mulching
Raking
Trimming
Procuring and planting flowers and shrubs as well as mulch and other garden products.
- Grass cutting (when required by the Facilities Manager).
- Promote and adhere to all elements of the Agency's Corporate Compliance and HIPAA policies.
- Maintain and promote confidentiality in accordance with Agency policy.
- Comply with all aspects of the Agency's Safety Policy.
- Serve on Agency committees as assigned.
- Attend meetings as dictated by your job responsibilities and/or as assigned.
- Attend and complete all mandatory training.
- Adhere to scheduled hours and submit completed timesheets to supervisor on time each payroll period
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and function as a team member with a wide range of people.
- Ability to work flexible schedules which may include evenings and weekends.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Experience in the field of construction/repairs.
- Knowledge of the principles, techniques, methods and current building/maintenance practices.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good safety practices.
- Normal visual and hearing acuity.
- Adequate manual dexterity.
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to climb a ladder to access roof.
- Ability to access all agency offsite buildings.
- Ability to assume repeated awkward positions (bending, stooping, and twisting).
- Ability to lift 75 lbs. – transferring supplies, etc.
- Ability to withstand seasonal temperature changes.
- Ability to operate an agency vehicle.
- Ability to visually inspect agency offsite and work in progress.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
