What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Inspector - Prepour position at Coreslab Structures (OKLA) Inc?
Coreslab Structures (OKLA) Inc., Oklahoma’s premier precast concrete supplier, is excited to announce that we are currently adding QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIANS to our Quality Control team for immediate hire. The QC Tech position offers a unique mix of plant, administrative and reporting responsibilities for a thorough, organized and computer-literate individual who likes being in the middle of the action.
While no experience is required, the ideal candidate will have concrete testing, concrete pouring, concrete finishing, blue-print reading and/or other general construction experience. Again, these are not required for entry-level consideration. Individuals possessing current or lapsed ACI and/or PCI certifications will be considered for senior Technician status. All QC Technicians are expected to pursue, achieve and maintain ACI and PCI certifications with the Company’s full financial and educational support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Pre-pour Q.C. shift starts at 6:00am (can vary) and ends at 2:30pm or until production is finished for the day. The job of the Pre-Pour QC Inspectors is to check the schedule and make sure we have the correct prints for each day and to make sure the prints we have are the latest revision. Each day they will get all the prints for the day ready and prepare all of the stress sheets for each bed. They would then look over the prints for any errors and address them with the Engineer and/or Project Manager for that job. After that the Pre-Pour Inspector will be out in the plant doing spot check on the beds as they are building them and answer any questions the Bed Foreman might have. After they have the headers set and the imbeds marked out the Pre-Pour inspector will do a setup on the bed and verify the lengths widths and square of the forms and check any imbeds that they may have. After the setup the next step in prestressing in applicable. During the prestressing you will be present to verify they are pulling to the correct pressure and measuring the elongation, and making sure that no one is on or near the bed as it is being stressed. After the bed is fully complete the Pre-Pour Inspecter with do a final pre-pour check on the bed to verify all of the imbeds and reinforcement are in the correct location and that the inside of the panels are cleaned out and free of debris.
Skills and Knowledge:
Good verbal and written skills.
Computer literacy (Windows – Word and excel)
Ability to maintain good attitude under stressful and changing conditions.
Ability to read and comprehend prints and piece tickets
Qualifications and Experience:
High School Grad with Tech classes a plus
Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes
ACI and/or PCI certified or capable of becoming
Basic print reading and comprehension
Physical Requirements:
Able to handle stress
Able to work long hours when needed
Must be able to climb on ladders, forms, and trailers to check set up and product
Work Environment:
Office environment and outside production areas
Work environment is in hot or cold climate
Work requires checking product and production beds while climbing on ladders or on trailers
