SUMMARY :
A family-owned business operating since 1972 with six locations across Staten Island, New Jersey, and Queens, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Controller to join our growing team. The Controller will play a pivotal role in managing financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, preparing weekly financial reports, and collaborating with company leadership. The company values commitment and promotes from within, encouraging employees to grow and succeed
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Oversee and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Prepare and present weekly reports on sales, expenses, profitability, and other financial metrics to company leadership
Learn and utilize the company's proprietary accounting software, Ddi, which manages all financial operations (training provided)
Leverage technology to streamline financial processes and enhance reporting efficiency
Support financial planning and analysis to inform strategic decisions
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and relevant regulations
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA is preferred
5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, ideally within the distribution industry
Proficient with financial software; experience with Ddi or similar systems is a plus
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage a team, and meet deadlines effectively
Computer-savvy with a knack for adopting and leveraging technology
A commitment to professionalism, punctuality, and attendance
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
On-site position based in Staten Island, NY (and will eventually move to NJ)
