Job Overview
As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will conduct a wide array of routine and specialized tests critical for patient diagnosis and treatment. Your expertise will be utilized in disciplines such as Chemistry, Hematology / Coagulation, Immunohematology, Histocompatibility, Flow Cytometry, Molecular Pathology, Ancillary Testing, Microbiology, and various other specialty departments.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, with 16 semester hours in biology (including a microbiology course) and 16 semester hours in chemistry (including organic or biochemistry). This can be part of your degree or additional coursework.
- Completion of an accredited clinical laboratory program or at least three months of documented laboratory training in each specialty where you perform high complexity testing.
- Evidence of clinical internship completion (e.g., NAACLS accredited program).
- Official ASCP BOC approval confirming eligibility to sit for the certification exam.
- Must have ASCP Medical Laboratory Scientist - MLS(ASCP) certification, ASCP Medical Technologist - MT(ASCP), or equivalent certifications as specified.
