Job Summary:
The Nurse Educator plays a vital role in the professional development and growth of nurses and other healthcare personnel. Using tools of consulting, mentoring, coaching, and interprofessional collaboration, they facilitate role development from novice to expert.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee orientation programs to ensure new hires have the knowledge and skills to practice independently.
- Develop and evaluate competency programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to address deficits in employees' knowledge and skills.
- Foster interprofessional learning and effective collaboration to improve practice outcomes.
- Apply research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement principles in education and professional role development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; Master's Degree preferred.
- 5 years of relevant clinical experience related to the area of focus.
- Required certifications include Basic Life Support, ACLS, ENPC, TNCC, PALS, NRP, and STABLE.
- Preferred qualifications include adult education certification and specialty certifications such as Oncology Nursing Society and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
