CHE Medical Director and Assistant Dean for Research. This role is a collaborative effort between the Corewell Health Research Institute (CHRI) and Oakland University William Beaumont (OUWB) School of Medicine.
The CHE Research Medical Director will lead and provide support for clinical, translational, and basic science research programs at Corewell Health East (CHE) and partnering institutions. The individual will also serve as the Assistant Dean for Research at OUWB, fostering a robust research culture and advancing medical knowledge. The CHE Research Medical Director/OUWB Assistant Dean for Research will assist with setting the strategic vision for CHRI research, including building out identified areas of focus for future research activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Cultivating a successful research portfolio with a national reputation.
- Supporting research collaborations across Corewell Health, OUWB, Oakland University, and other partnering institutions.
- Assisting in crafting and supporting strategic plans and partnerships.
- Mentoring researchers and supporting their career development.
- Increasing engagement in clinical, translational, basic research, and health implementation science programs.
- Providing research support and mentorship for CHE residents and fellows.
- Collaborating closely with CHRI leadership and OUWB faculty to enhance the visibility and awareness of research.
This part-time administrative role will be part of the CHRI executive leadership structure, creating a dyad partnership with the CHRI Vice President, Research Administration and the CHW Research Medical Director, while reporting to the CHE SVP, CMO and matrixing to the dean, OUWB. The ideal candidate will have an MD or DO degree, a minimum of 7 years of experience in clinical and/or translational research, and a proven track record of successful clinical trial management and research program development.
