About Corewell Health 2 East, a renowned Surgical Critical Care Unit, specializes in cardiovascular surgical interventions. The unit staff is comprised of Registered Nurses (RNs), Nurse Technicians (NTs), and Clinical Assistants (CAs). We are led by a Clinical Nurse Manager, an Associate Clinical Manager on off-shifts, and a Nurse in Professional Development Specialist.
Scope of Work
The Registered Nurse, under the ANA scope of practice, utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care. This involves assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and discharging patients while incorporating patient-family centered care principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader, adhering to Corewell Health policies and procedures.
- Recognize the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes.
- Develop teaching strategies for patients/families and document education appropriately in health records.
