This is a Weekend Program consisting of working 48 out of 52 weekends.
About Corewell Health South Hospice
We are a community-based non-profit organization serving 3 counties in Southwest Michigan: Cass, Berrien, and Van Buren for over 30 years.
We specialize in providing end-of-life care and symptom management to individuals with a life expectancy of six months or less.
We are one of the few Hospices in Southwest Michigan with a 16-bed inpatient hospice residence to serve patients and families needing this environment.
We serve individuals in their home, nursing facilities, and in the hospital.
Scope of Work
The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the strategies and services required to meet the patients/family's end-of-life care needs.
An outcome-based plan of care is created and continually adjusted through utilization of the nursing process, relationship-centered care principles, and holistic philosophy, assuring that the changing needs of the patient/family are met while facilitating a pain-free, peaceful, sacred death.
Provides the care that patients want, when they want it.
Qualifications Required
- Associate's Degree Nursing
- 1 year of relevant experience, preferably in hospice or related field
- Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Michigan required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 90 Days required
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing
- Experience with dying patients and their families
