Overview of the Role
The Water-Wastewater Operator I is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team and contribute to the delivery of safe and reliable water and wastewater services. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining water and/or wastewater treatment equipment, ensuring compliance with state and federal environmental protection limits and adherence to company policies and standards.
Responsibilities and Expectations
The successful candidate will assist in emergency procedures, conduct ongoing repairs to equipment, prepare reports, maintain logs, and clean and maintain treatment plants and pumping stations. They will also perform facility and vehicle inspections, communicate effectively with customers, and report safety concerns to management. It is essential that you have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to read meters, charts, and gauges accurately. Familiarity with computer applications such as MS Word and Excel is also essential.
Requirements and Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years of mechanical work experience and a high school diploma or equivalent are required. A valid driver's license and ability to obtain a First-Level operator license within 1 year of employment are also necessary. The ideal candidate will possess physical stamina to perform moderate to heavy tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds, walking long distances, and climbing.
