About the Role
The Water-Wastewater Operator I will be responsible for operating and maintaining water and/or wastewater treatment equipment, ensuring compliance with state and federal environmental protection limits and adherence to company policies and standards. The role requires at least 2 years of mechanical work experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. A valid driver's license and ability to obtain a First-Level operator license within 1 year of employment are also required.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist in emergency procedures, conduct ongoing repairs to equipment, prepare reports, maintain logs, and clean and maintain treatment plants and pumping stations. They will also perform facility and vehicle inspections, communicate effectively with customers, and report safety concerns to management.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You should be able to read meters, charts, and gauges accurately and maintain records of plant operations. Familiarity with computer applications such as MS Word and Excel is also essential. The ideal candidate will possess physical stamina to perform moderate to heavy tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds, walking long distances, and climbing.
