QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, or related field required.At least two to four (2-4) years of experience in a correctional health environment and staff development or training experience in a clinical/healthcare setting equivalent required.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint essential. Familiarity with Electronic Health Records is required. Understanding of ALDOC Administrative Regulation and Braggs Remedial Order--Requirements imperative. Able to work and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirements.Ability to travel 60-75% to various correctional facilities, regional offices, and vendor sites mandatory.A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.

Responsibilities
JOB DUTIES
Manage all clinical curricula and training implementation efforts, assessments, and refresher training. Training includes but is not limited to the following:On-Boarding ProgrammingInitial and annual core clinical competency trainingAnnual Comprehensive Mental Health Training for YesCare and ADOC StaffNew competency training initiativesProvide on-site, and with some exceptions virtual, topic-specific training to YesCare Mental Health Professional and administrative staff, as well as ALDOC staff. Topics include, but are not limited to, the following:De-escalation/Crisis-InterventionConflict ResolutionTrauma-Informed CareWorking with Mental Illness or a specific mental health disorderConduct workshops, seminars, or training sessions to enhance the knowledge and skills of YesCare and ALDOC staff working with incarcerated individuals.Provide training to interdisciplinary (nursing, medical, operational) staff on topics relevant to mental health care and caring for people with mental disorders.Monitor and ensure adherence to mental health training in accordance with established policies, procedures, and new initiatives.Advise on developing and revising operational guidelines and staff protocols related to mental health care within a correctional environment.Actively partner with Regional Psychologists, Assistant Regional Behavioral Health Directors, and site-level Behavioral Health Directors in developing and implementing training throughout the state.Ensure all training and education programming meets YesCare and ALDOC standards, especially regarding Braggs Remedial Order and Administrative Regulations related to mental health.Develop, train, and track completion of annual comprehensive MH Training for YesCare and ALDOC staff.Collaborate with interdisciplinary training personnel (e.g., Statewide Nursing Training Coordinators) on interdisciplinary training initiatives. Serve as a super-user for Electronic Health Records (EHR) and assist in orienting new and established YesCare staff to the electronic records system.Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and outcomes for compliance.Perform other duties/tasks and participate in special projects/initiatives as assigned.Require sixty to seventy-five (60-75%) travel comprised of statewide on-site training.WORK ENVIRNOMENT
Correctional officers provide security; however, some degree of risk of verbal and physical assault from inmates exists. As in any healthcare setting, employees may be exposed to communicable and/or infectious diseases. Inside work with periodic traveling (inter and intra state) to other locations with exposure to weather, temperature extremes and hazardous road conditions. Frequent standing and walking while presenting or performing job duties.
Because patients need round the clock care, working hours include days, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call. Rotating shifts, weekends as well as holidays and work during inclement weather will be required. Adheres to site/contract specific regarding on-call requirements and mandated schedules/overtime. Team members may be mandated to work shifts and/or overtime due to site/staffing or emergencies.
Essential staff is defined as healthcare and behavioral professionals that may be required or mandated to work due to site/staffing or emergencies (natural disaster, inclement weather, or other situations).

Employees must be able to perform the following:
Required to exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects including the human body. Required to kneel, stoop, crouch and/or crawl occasionally. Frequent walking throughout site; to include walking up and down flights of stairs.Must have and maintain sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform during stressful (physical, mental, and emotional) situations encountered on the job.Occasional running when responding to emergencies; must be able to perform BLS. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Frequently required to sit, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, and talk/hear. Requires critical thinking, organizational, decisive judgment, communication, good customer service skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks, be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate actions as needed.
