Job Title: Facility Assistant Reports to: Facility & Supply Chain Coordinator Type: Full-time, hourly
THE ROLE:
Cornbread Hemp is looking for a Facility Assistant who thrives in a dynamic, ever-changing environment and has a solid background in general facility maintenance for a 10 AM - 6 PM shift. If you enjoy a job where no two days look the same, and you’re comfortable adapting on the fly, this role is for you. You’ll play a vital role in keeping our workplace functional, organized, and safe, often shifting priorities at a moment’s notice. From general repairs to assisting with external contractors, to helping shuttle employees, your ability to pivot quickly and problem-solve on the spot will be crucial.
WHO YOU ARE:
- A hands-on problem solver with a knack for troubleshooting maintenance issues.
- Versatile and adaptable, able to adjust plans and priorities throughout the day.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various conditions.
- Experienced in facility maintenance, with knowledge of basic repairs, organization, and upkeep.
- Personable and professional, able to communicate effectively with employees and contractors.
- Physically capable, able to handle tasks that require lifting, standing, and repetitive movements.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Shuttle Operations: Operate a golf cart for employee shuttles during lunch and at the end of the workday, as well as provide other rides as needed.
- Parking Oversight: Monitor designated parking lots, ensuring employees follow parking SOPs, and notify individuals if adjustments are required.
- Facility Maintenance & Upkeep:
- Monitor and restock toilet paper and paper towels throughout the facility.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks and general facility upkeep.
- Organize tools and supplies for facility use.
- Waste & Recycling Management:
- Monitor trash and recycling throughout the facility.
- Break down cardboard and place it in the appropriate recycling receptacle.
- Gather and neatly arrange pallets for removal.
- Inclement Weather Prep: Assist with facility preparation for extreme weather conditions.
- Assembly & Setup: Assemble furniture, office chairs, and other items needed for production and fulfillment teams.
- Grounds Maintenance: Maintain the area around the building, including minor lawn care and weed control.
- Contractor Liaison: Serve as a point of contact for contractors visiting the site.
- Emergency Response: Address urgent maintenance issues as they arise to keep the facility running smoothly.
- Receiving: Receive shipments from Amazon, Uline, etc. and deliver to the correct recipient or store appropriately.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Provide general assistance wherever needed to keep the facility running smoothly.
SKILLS EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES THAT WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Experience: 1-2 years in a production environment; general facility maintenance preferred.
- Troubleshoot: Ability to fix minor repairs independently.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Adaptability: Flexible to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
- Team Player: Positive energy and reliability for team cohesion.
- Preferred Knowledge: HS diploma and experience with MS Office (Teams, Excel, Word).
- Must have a valid driver license.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Comfortable with repetitive arm motions.
- Able to regularly lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
- Must have a valid driver license.
