Precision Feed Management Team Leader
Cornell Cooperative Extension is seeking a dedicated professional to lead our Precision Feed Management team in Delaware County, New York. This role offers the opportunity to support small farms and protect natural resources, contributing to farm economic viability and water quality in the New York City Watershed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of conservation professionals in providing feed management planning, animal nutrition, and crop production guidance and education for small dairy and beef farms.
- Collaborate with the Watershed Ag Program to develop and implement sustainable practices, drive strategic direction, and ensure program success.
- Work closely with farmers, agricultural experts, and community stakeholders to promote sustainable farming practices and water quality protection.
Requirements:
- Masters degree in Animal Science, Crop Science, or Farm Management.
- At least two years of experience in Cooperative Extension or equivalent professional agricultural experience.
- Strong understanding of dairy and/or beef cattle nutrition, particularly computer nutrition models.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaborative skills.
- A passion for sustainable farming and water quality protection.
