What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Navigator - Oriskany, NY position at Cornell Cooperative Extension?
The Community Navigator serves as a member of the Family Development Program of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County (CCEOC). The individual will deliver public education on the services offered by CCEOCs Family Development Program as well as the countys childcare assistance program. Education will take place throughout the community at off-site locations. The Community Navigator will work with community agencies to coordinate days and times to be on-site to meet with agency consumers. The Community Navigator will provide information to participants regarding other Extension programs, community agencies, and services as needed. This individual will appreciate and embrace diversity in all interactions with clientele, staff, volunteers, and the public.
Required Qualifications :
- Associate degree or equivalent. GED / High School Diploma plus one year of transferrable program / functional experience is acceptable.
- Experience relevant to the role of the position.
- Valid NYS Drivers License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
- Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and / or weekends, as appropriate.
- Ability and willingness to work with diverse audiences and maintain cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and tactfully through verbal, written and electronic methods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability and willingness to work with a high degree of integrity, accuracy, organization, sound professional judgment, and the ability to handle confidential, sensitive information.
- Proficiency with windows-based software including use of the internet and Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Excel.

Position Details
This is a full-time (37.5 hrs / week), benefits eligible, non-exempt position. Compensation for this position is $19.50 per hour.
Paid time off includes 12 Vacation days, 15 Sick days, 4 Personal days, 12 Holidays, and 2 Floating Holidays annually. Additional benefits based on eligibility, include :
