What are the responsibilities and job description for the EHR Optimization Specialist position at Cornell Scott-Hill Health?
As the Business Intelligence EHR Optimization Specialist at Cornell Scott Hill Health Center, you will play a vital role in workflow analysis, Epic troubleshooting, and technical support. The Business Intelligence EHR Optimization Specialist is responsible for creating detailed documentation, identifying workflow deficiencies, and presenting optimization recommendations. This role will provide high-level support, troubleshooting assistance, and review and process security access. Additionally, the EHR Optimization Specialist will serve as the backup trainer for all Epic applications, as needed.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Epic EHR & CSHHC Knowledge:
- Attend required CSHHC Epic training to acquire a knowledge base of existing CSHHC workflows in Epic
- Complete credentialing in Ambulatory, Cadence, and ClinDoc.
- Review training and upgrade material to ensure expertise with current CSHHC workflows and ongoing Epic upgrade changes.
- Optimization Support Shadow:
- Will provide live and remote support after obtaining workflow analysis of all CSHHC sites to identify workflow deficiencies and training opportunities.
- Assess skill gaps and provide recommendations for improvement to guarantee user proficiency and workflow uniformity.
- Provide go-live (elbow support) when requested during epic upgrades.
- Design Lucid Chart diagrams documenting workflow analysis observations and revisions.
- Epic Central:
- Maintain exemplary customer service by ensuring timely responses to Epic user concerns.
- Evaluate, troubleshoot, and resolve various Epic issues via telephone and manage engine requests.
- Work with Epic Central analysts to troubleshoot escalate issues and coordinate service requests.
- Document issuing using the Manage Engine ticketing system to document resolution.
- Review and process security access forms for new hires, rehires, and role changes.
- Epic Training:
- Serve as a relief trainer, delivering on-site Epic training for Ambulatory, Cadence, and ClinDoc staff as needed.
- Provide Ad hoc Epic training as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or Informatics.
- 3 or more years of relevant experience and proven proficiency with Epic.
- Strong background in healthcare terminology.
- Proficiency in computer software (Microsoft Suite office required, and Lucid Charts/Visio).
- Mastery in teaching methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with ticketing software (i.e., Manage Engine).
