About CETA

Located in New York City, CETA is a first-of-its-kind clinic that helps IPV survivors mitigate technology-facilitated abuse. We are a small team of academic faculty, staff, students, and volunteers. We work directly with survivors to help them determine if someone is using technology to harm them and what they can do to stay safe. We provide our services through collaborations with the New York City Mayor's Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence (ENDGBV) and The Anti-Violence Project (AVP). We also conduct ground-breaking academic research, advocate for improved tech safety laws and policies, create and host publicly-available resources, provide tech safety trainings, collaborate with technology companies, practitioners, non-profits, and advocacy groups, and more.

CETA is a part of Cornell Tech, Cornell University’s applied sciences and engineering campus, located on Roosevelt Island in New York City. Cornell Tech focuses on developing technologies, leaders, and ventures for lasting economic and social prosperity. See https://tech.cornell.edu for more information.
