What are the responsibilities and job description for the PM Food Server position at Corner Cafe?
There has always been a small restaurant at the “Corner” in Riverside, Missouri. Enter Ed & Kathi Rule. They had never been in the restaurant business before, but they always felt they knew what good food was all about. It began on May 15, 1983, when they opened a little 40-seat cafe that served breakfast and lunch. The CORNER CAFE was born. Expansions and new buildings have been built, but we continue the traditions that started back in 1983. We strive to provide the best products, the best service, and the best value in an atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re part of the family. The Independence location opened in 2008.
This is a tipped position. If you love taking care of people and have great organization and attention to detail, then serving is for you. Our servers take pride in warmly welcoming guests, helping them choose the right freshly made meal and delicious dessert, and anticipating their every need while they visit us.
Job Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of station, work area and counter throughout shift.
- Acknowledge tables in a quick friendly manner
- Answer questions or make recommendations
- Take and serve orders
- Promote and offer desserts or coffees after completing meal
- Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen staff
- Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude
- Issue bills and accept payment
