The Role. The Scientist for Discovery will drive and develop expertise in multiple projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will drive early drug discovery projects in immunology by designing, conducting, troubleshooting and analyzing in vitro and pre-clinical murine studies. The candidate will have experience with mechanism of action studies by establishing in vitro, in vivo, and ex vivo assays to advance or discover candidate molecules or novel mechanisms of action for immunotherapeutic interventions against cancer and possibly infectious diseases.

Responsibilities:

·       Execute experiments, analyze data, troubleshoot, and communicate findings.

·       Perform immune-based assays such as multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA & cell-based assays.

·       Perform murine in vivo study workflows such as performing injections (subcutaneous), and tissue dissections (e.g. tumors, spleen, draining lymph nodes).

·       Perform murine ex vivo study workflows such as tissue dissociations, and immune cell-based assays.

·       Independently maintains and develops skills and expertise in immunology. Performs literature searches.

·       Document experimental work in an electronic lab notebook with attention to detail.

·       Procure, organize, and maintain inventory of materials needed for experiments.

Preferred Qualifications:

·       PhD in relevant scientific discipline (e.g. immunology or equivalent, with 1-2 years laboratory experience in industry or academia).

·       Expertise in immune cell-based assays, and standard immunological assays.

·       Expertise acquiring and analyzing multi-parameter flow cytometry data.

·       Experience with molecular immunology is a plus.
