CornerBrooke, LLC is seeking an experienced Digital Social Media Analytics professional to provide digital social media and analytical support to the Department of the Army's Office of the Chief of Public Affairs (OCPA) and Department of Defense Public Affairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital media and analytical support for reaching diverse audiences. This role requires the ability to develop, manage, and monitor digital social media strategies and collateral and integrating social listening, providing media insights, and generating detailed reports to inform Army public affairs strategies.
Background :
The Office of the Chief of Public Affairs (OCPA) is responsible for fulfilling the Army's obligation to keep the American people and the Army informed and helps to establish the conditions that lead to confidence in America's Army and its readiness to conduct operations in peacetime, conflict and war. Army Public Affairs is comprised of Soldiers and Officers adept at planning and executing a commanders communication strategy through corporate communication, media and stakeholder engagements, and community outreach activities directed toward external and internal publics with interest in the Department of Defense. The proactive release of accurate information puts U.S. Military operations in context, facilitates informed perceptions about Military operations, counters misinformation and disinformation, and helps achieve national, strategic, operational, and tactical objectives. PA exists to maintain the trust and confidence of the American public and deter adversaries at home and abroad.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to :
- Integrate social listening across OCPA initiatives to monitor trending conversations about the Army brand.
- Support crisis communication by leveraging industry tools to track and analyze media and digital platform discussions.
- Develop, assess, and report on metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of Army communication strategies.
- Analyze data from mainstream media and Army-owned channels (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube) to optimize content strategy.
- Collect and analyze social media data, including engagement, tone, and demographic / geographic reach.
- Identify and recommend social media influencers aligned with Army objectives for specified topics and regions.
- Provide strategic insights on Armys engagement with key publics, including service members, veterans, elected officials, and defense organizations.
- Generate ad-hoc, daily, weekly, and monthly reports summarizing traditional and social media coverage of Army-related topics.
- Create daily media digests (Monday-Friday) with cross-referenced updates from DoDs Morning News of Note by 0530 EST, covering news from 2200 the previous day to 0400 the report day.
- Offer a written snapshot of key reporting takeaways within each daily report.
- Be on-call during early morning hours (0530-0700) to make adjustments based on OCPA review and feedback.
- Provide two daily reports over weekends, covering 12-hour periods, due by 0700 and 1900 to the OCPA duty officer.
- Breaking News Monitoring :
- Monitor breaking news on major news websites and social media platforms daily from 0700 to 2200, notifying MRD leadership on relevant updates.
- Maintain and regularly update a Be on the Lookout (BOLO) list for tracking key topics.
- Provide ongoing support for the Armys social media tools and solutions, acting as a liaison for related services.
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support the OCPAs mission and enhance public engagement.
