The PLC Controls Engineer will be required to provide advanced troubleshooting skills to our customers and to perform design, programming, panel building, installation, documentation, testing, and commissioning of integrated control system projects.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot PLCs, drives, networks, HMI, servos, software and other controls
- Electrical/control system design
- Read and create drawings (AutoCAD)
- Read and understand project related documentation
- Startup and commissioning of projects at the customer site
- Develop technical solutions and resolve project issues
- Identify and resolve technical risks in assigned work
- Provide customer technical support
- Design and build control panels to various code requirements (NEC, UL508A, Functional Safety, SCCR)
- College degree in related field preferred
- 2 years plus experience working as a PLC Controls Engineer/Technician
- Ability to analyze and solve difficult problems independently
- Experience with programming Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs. Experience with other brands of controls is beneficial (for example Modicon, Mitsubishi, Nidec, Omron, Siemens)
- Motion control experience is a plus
- Electrical construction is a plus
- Strong communication skills with customers and co-workers
- Strong computer and network skills
- Collaborate with peers to achieve best solutions
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and/or projects
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to establish and meet schedules
- Must be fluent in English, have a valid driver’s license, and have own transportation
- Must be able to climb ladders and stand for extended periods of time occasionally
- No sponsorship - must be authorized to work in US
