Cornerstone Center for Early Learning is seeking a Teacher Interventionist for our Saint Louis, MO location.
Description:
The Teacher Interventionist is primarily responsible for facilitating interactions with children in the classroom. In both individual and group settings, the Teacher Interventionist develops an understanding of the children, identifies any maladaptive behaviors, and attempts to redirect these behaviors by capitalizing on the children’s’ natural interests and strengths.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood or Children Psychology or Child Development or similar areas required.
- Experience working with children in a classroom setting preferred.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, bending, stooping, handling small objects.

Responsibilities:
- Lift up to 30 pounds
- Teaching one-on-one or in group settings.
- The Teacher Interventionist should approach all communication from strengths-based perspective o Facilitate interactions with children in and out of the classroom to identify any maladaptive behaviors and attempt to redirect these behaviors in an encouraging and clear manner
- Advocate for additional resources for children and their families, as well as teachers
- Serve as a liaison between administration, faculty, and caregivers to streamline communication and ensure consistency in implemented intervention
- Conduct meticulous documentation of daily interactions to identify patterns in children’s’ behavior and increase the effectiveness of intervention
- Accept and support diversity of family members and lifestyles
- Refrain from gossip and inappropriate conversations with others, including staff, family members, visitors, therapists, consultants, and volunteers

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
