Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains full familiarity with plans, specifications, construction schedules, and contractor's plans on assigned contracts, the Project Management Plan, and current safety regulations in order to be knowledgeable of the project team (i.e., WMATA, consultants, and multiple contractors) responsibilities;
- Provide construction management support to the WMATA Project Implementation Team during project execution;
- Assist in the development of construction solicitation packages for bidding, proposal evaluation, and award recommendations;
- Review contract solicitation packages and recommend, for WMATA consideration, construction proposals to be considered for award;
- Coordinate the work with all contractors and ensure all program deliverables conform with the technical specifications and respective contract provisions;
- Coordinate and develop scopes of work, work packages, and construction schedules;
- Facilitate and oversee execution of field operations by coordinating field support, schedules, materials, and access of WMATA and contractor personnel;
- Participate in pre-construction surveys and field data collection, and maintain data organized in file structures and spreadsheets;
- Review and recommend the approval of contractors request for payment;
- Prepare technical documents for WMATAs project records;
- Monitor implementation of construction activities, as well as schedule, scope, and budget.
- Prepare project status reports to identify progress and monitor the project schedule, budget, and staffing plan;
- Perform site visits, and participate in progress meetings to monitor project progress, quality control, testing, and acceptance of the equipment and systems;
- Reviews contractors inspection procedures and recommends improvements to ensure compliance with project requirements; and
- Coordinates and verifies substantial completion and final inspections of contractors completed work and reviews documentation for compliance with project requirements.
Background and Experience Required
- Bachelors degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field;
- A minimum of ten (10) years of construction or related engineering experience, with at least two (2) of the ten years in the transit industry;
- OSHA 10-hour Construction certification;
- Physical ability to access any of the locations and perform a hands-on inspection, if required;
- Must be able to successfully complete WMATAs RWP Certification Class;
- Must have previous field experience; and
- Experience with Microsoft 365®.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with WMATA design criteria and standards
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Procore Familiarity with WMATA design criteria and standards

Salary Range: $ 118,000 to $ 133,000 YR
