Duties
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including examinations, fillings, and extractions.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnostic purposes.
- Manage patient records using dental software such as Open Dental.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Schedule appointments and manage the front desk as needed, including handling patient inquiries.
- Monitor and record vital signs as part of patient assessments.
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures with a friendly approach to ensure comfort for young patients.
- Assist in prosthodontics and endodontics procedures, providing necessary support to the dentist.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental software applications such as Opendental is preferred.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Experience with medical imaging techniques, particularly X-ray technology.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices to effectively engage with younger patients.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately and efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
