As a Regional Director, you will play a critical role in expanding and managing our state-of-the-art Soils and Concrete laboratory in Nashville, TN. This position requires an experienced leader with strong existing relationships, the ability to develop new business, and the expertise to manage laboratory operations and field technicians efficiently. You will be responsible for securing new contracts, overseeing quality control, and ensuring proper training and utilization of technicians.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, such as general contractors, engineers, and developers, to secure new business.
- Market our state-of-the-art CMT lab and services to expand our client base.
- Lead the proposal development process, from initial inquiry to signed contracts.
- Attend industry events, networking functions, and client meetings to build brand awareness.
- Act as the primary client liaison, ensuring excellent service and timely responses to project needs.
- Oversee daily lab operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards (ASTM, AASHTO, etc.).
- Manage the utilization of field and laboratory technicians, optimizing schedules and workloads.
- Ensure all technicians receive proper training and certifications (ICC, ACI, etc.).
- Develop internal processes to improve efficiency and service delivery.
- Provide technical expertise on construction materials testing, including concrete, soils, asphalt, and aggregates.
- Review and interpret test data, ensuring reports are accurate and meet project requirements.
- Support field technicians in troubleshooting testing issues and maintaining equipment calibration.
- Collaborate with managers, engineers, and field technicians to provide testing solutions and recommendations.
- Collaborate with the laboratory manager for all required purchase of new equipment and materials.
- 8 years of experience in construction materials testing, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
- Established relationships with the Nashville market.(preferred but not required).
- Strong understanding of ASTM, AASHTO, and other relevant industry standards.
- Experience in business development, proposal writing, and contract negotiations.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team of field and lab technicians.
- Certifications such as ICC, ACI, or similar (preferred).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
