- Provide chair side assistance to the dental providers during examination and treatment of patients.
- Prepare patients and operatory for dental treatment including but not limited to preparing and arranging the dental instruments, restorative cement, materials and medications on the chair side tray.
- Sterilize instruments and equipment by using autoclave or chemical disinfectants as per CORNERSTONE infection control policies and OSHA guidelines.
- Take, develop, mount and file x-rays.
- Provide post-operative instructions and follow-up appointments for patients.
- Perform laboratory procedures by fabricating models from impressions taken by the dentist.
- Monitor patient's prosthesis by logging cases leaving CORNERSTONE and returning from Dental Lab.
- Provide appointments for patients when prosthesis returns.
- Maintain orderly, well stocked and clean treatment rooms and lab.
- Assists the front office with patient registration, filing and pulling charts and making confirmation appointment calls as directed by the Dental Office Coordinator.
- Provide intake procedures, such as to obtain patient's past and present medical histories, vital signs and record correct information in patient's dental record.
- Performs other duties as assigned.Requirements
- Dental Assistant Certificate and at least 2 years of experience working as a dental assistant
- or 4 years of experience working as a Dental Assistant without a Dental Assistant Certificate
- Current BLS certification
- Bilingual preferred
- Travel to other Dental Cornerstone sites requiredRequirements
