Annual Salary: $31.25 to $43.25 hourly (DOE)

JOB OVERVIEW
The Maintenance and Facilities Technician (Handyman) is a NON-EXEMPT (Hourly) position responsible for ensuring the functionality, safety, and upkeep of all Cornerstone’s residential and commercial properties. This role requires a skilled professional capable of diagnosing and resolving a wide range of maintenance issues, executing repair projects, and implementing solutions that enhance the longevity and efficiency of building systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform thorough property assessments and cost analyses to identify, prioritize, and address maintenance needs across multiple locations statewide.
- Independently execute repairs across various trades, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors as needed, ensuring direct supervision and quality control to meet performance and safety standards.
- Install, upgrade, and maintain fixtures, appliances, and custom-built components to enhance property functionality and aesthetics.
- Develop and implement a proactive preventative maintenance program to extend the lifespan of building systems and assets; assess and request approval for necessary equipment replacements or upgrades.
- Provide expert guidance to Cornerstone leadership on maintenance best practices, system improvements, and potential facility upgrades.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, purchases, and completed work to support operational efficiency and compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5-7 years of experience in construction, professional handyman, or related fields
- 3-5 years of experience in multiple trades including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC
- Extensive knowledge of building systems, construction techniques, and safety protocols
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex maintenance issues and implement effective solutions
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency in using a wide range of hand and power tools for maintenance and construction tasks.
- Basic computer skills necessary for generating maintenance logs, invoices, purchase requests, etc.
Preferred
- 7 years of experience in construction, professional handyman, or related fields
- 5 years of experience in multiple trades including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC
- Relative trade certifications (e.g. electrical, plumbing, etc.) and/or membership in multiple unions

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have sufficient mobility to climb ladders, access tight spaces, and inspect concealed but accessible spaces within existing buildings.
