Guest Service Attendant Job Description
Location: Area 1: Downtown Atlanta, Midtown, Buckhead, Lenox
Schedule: 8am-4pm, 3pm-12pm - Full Time
Pay: $15/HR.
Position Overview: The Guest Service Attendant plays a vital role in creating a memorable experience for guests in the hospitality industry. Responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, they ensure guests feel welcomed, valued, and supported throughout their stay. This includes managing check-ins and check-outs, addressing guest inquiries, and collaborating with other departments to maintain high service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Interaction:
- Greet and welcome guests warmly upon arrival, creating a positive first impression.
- Assist with check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide information about hotel amenities, local attractions, and transportation options.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests professionally and promptly.
- Anticipate guest needs and proactively offer assistance to enhance their experience.
Service Coordination:
- Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to fulfill guest requests efficiently.
- Arrange for services such as room service, wake-up calls, transportation, and dining reservations.
- Promote and upsell room upgrades, packages, or additional services to maximize guest satisfaction and revenue.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of guest transactions, reservations, and special requests.
- Operate property management software to handle bookings and payments.
- Ensure cash handling and billing procedures comply with company policies.
Facility Maintenance:
- Ensure the front desk, lobby, and guest areas remain clean and well-organized.
- Report maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate departments immediately.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in hospitality management is preferred.
- Prior experience in customer service or front desk roles, preferably in a hotel or resort.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Friendly, professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve issues with a calm, solutions-focused approach.
- Proficiency in hotel property management systems (e.g., Opera, OnQ, or similar).
- Multilingual abilities are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift luggage or other items up to 25 lbs.
