Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe working environment by implementing and monitoring safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and promoting compliance with health and safety regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of occupational health standards, risk management practices, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with management to ensure compliance with environmental health and safety (EHS) standards.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training sessions.
- Assist in the investigation of accidents or incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Utilize construction management software to track safety compliance and manage documentation.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, changes in regulations, and new technologies related to occupational health and safety.
Requirements
- Proven experience in risk management and occupational health within a construction or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with compliance management processes and OSHA standards.
- Knowledge of workers' compensation regulations and procedures.
- Experience with construction management software is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for training employees and collaborating with various teams.
- Ability to build strong relationships across departments to promote a culture of safety.
- Relevant certifications in EHS or safety management are a plus.
