Summary of Position
Responsible for full scale planning, directing, coordinating all live and virtual events working with both internal and external teams including site selection, contract review and negotiation, third-party vendor management and supervision of outside consultants and contractors.
Broad scope engagement with Councils, Committees, GAC’s and Foundation events in collaboration with other internal departments in addition to liaison with Marketing & Communications.

Essential Functions
Operations & Business Development
- Development and management of event budget, including billing and collections, coordinate all individual budgets into the department budget.
- Business development strategy for sales, prospecting, marketing, sales and on-site execution to meet annual goals
- Collaborate with the partnerships team as it relates to endorsed preferred partners working to foster event sponsorship opportunities.
- In coordination with the events team, frequently engage with exhibitors, sponsors and advertisers through facilitator-led focus groups to understand their strategies and ROI; makes recommendations for sales structures, bundles and other sales opportunities that increase revenue.
Event Management and Planning
- Create expansive meeting plans for all events to include running task list and due dates.
- Project manage events to completion ensuring clear communication with stakeholders and on-time delivery of required event strategies and deliverables.
- Develop post event survey plan. Ensure survey distribution and provide detailed data analysis of feedback and trends.
- Conducts ongoing research on emerging trends pertaining to events and exhibits to maximize sales and improve processes for both in-person and virtual events.
- Collaborates with marketing department related to marketing plans; print and digital collateral and social media marketing needs serving as department liaison.
- Provides detailed communications connected to event marketing working with writers and graphic design teams serving as department liaison. Review and approve all materials in conjunction with VP.
- Collaborate with Education Director, marketing team, and communications team to research training needs for credit unions and chapters; alternative delivery vehicles for education, i.e., on-line program delivery, virtual conference platforms, and social media promotion avenues.

Qualifications
Education/Certification: These characteristics are normally acquired through completion high school education, plus a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business or a related field or equivalent experience. CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) preferred.
Required Knowledge: Computer, communication and negotiation skills are required, but also knowledge of Credit Unions is preferred. Work requires knowledge of meeting planning, negotiating and personal computer. Sales and marketing experience preferred. A driver’s license is required.
Experience Required: Minimum five years’ experience with meeting management and exhibit sales.
Skills/Abilities: Work requires communication, basic accounting, and typing and computer skills. Professional well developed interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for frequent communication with Credit Union members, employees and vendors.

Physical Activities and Requirements of Position
Work requires sitting for the majority of the day, however, during conferences, seminars and other events, work requires standing and walking for a majority of the day. Occasional lifting of up to 35lbs is required when moving conference materials, A-V equipment, podiums, chairs and tables. Bending, squatting, twisting, reaching and kneeling are occasionally required when moving job-related materials.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply logical thinking to analyze problems involving a variety of variables.
Mathematics Ability: Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions, including basic algebra and statistics.
Language Ability: Ability to read and understand legal documents, professional periodicals and technical manuals. Ability to prepare memos, reports, presentation and business letters using proper punctuation, spelling and grammar. Ability to communicate effectively with appropriate pauses and emphasis, correct pronunciation and variation in normal word order using past, present and future tenses.
