What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager - Chemical Plant position at Cornerstone Management Solutions LLC?
We are seeking a chemical plant production manager who is responsible for directing and managing all activities of the chemical department's operations. The Production Manager is responsible for the application of lean manufacturing principles: improving efficiencies, establishing, and meeting KPI targets and continuous improvement activities. Our client develops elastomeric seals, polyamide foams, and high-temperature thermoplastics for aircraft interiors and has expertise in laser sintering.
Responsibilities:
Leadership: Manage and coordinate employees' daily activities, ensuring work assignments meet production schedules and quality standards.
Training & Coaching: Provide guidance, instruction, and training to ensure a safe work environment while meeting customer demands and specifications. Coach employees for success and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Production & Scheduling Oversight: Establish and sustain standard work processes while overseeing scheduling and production operations.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering and Sales teams to support value stream products and production goals.
Continuous Improvement & Cost Management: Identify and reduce waste while driving a culture of continuous improvement. Manage costs within the annual operating budget.
Performance Reporting: Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports on KPIs, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational metrics using statistical analysis.
Meetings & Communication: Lead daily production meetings, maintain confidentiality of projects and customers, and communicate effectively with employees for daily assignments and
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years’ experience plus experience in a manufacturing environment
- Chemical or Batch Process plant experience is ideal
- 2 Years as a Production Manager
- Lean Manufacturing experience
- Strong knowledge/ experience within area of Aerospace and Laser Sintering manufacturing
- Knowledge of Work order processes and reading blueprints
