Controller

We are seeking a highly motivated hands-on Controller for a specialty contractor in the DC Metro area. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in accounting within the construction industry

Responsibilities :

• Handle day-to-day financial reporting and analysis
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, statements, and analysis to support decision-making.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on key financial metrics.
• Handle the accounting operations within the company
• Manage daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, job costing, and general ledger activities.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly and annual close process.
• Collaborate with other members of the accounting department to ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
• Leverage experience in construction accounting to address industry-specific financial challenges
• Excellent working knowledge of percent complete accounting and the preparation of a job schedule from source information
• Manage all of the financial compliance needs within the company
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal requirements.
