Cornerstone Recruiting is actively searching for an experienced controller, and dynamic financial leader that will work with the principles as part of the executive team for this growing insurance restoration contractor. This is an in-person position, based in their Nottingham MD office.
Controller Key Responsibilities :
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Analyze financial data to identify trends and potential issues, providing insights to management.Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant reporting standards.Accounting Operations :Manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of all financial transactions.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections.Manage payroll processing and compliance with payroll regulations.Assessing current accounting operations.Offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.Tax planning and preparation.Identifying and managing business risks.Financial Controls and Compliance :Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.Monitor and manage financial risks associated with construction projects.Budgeting and Forecasting :Develop and manage annual operating budgets.
Prepare financial forecasts to support strategic planning.Analyze budget variances and identify areas for improvement.Required Skills and Qualifications :
