General Job Summary
Under the general direction of the CFO, the Controller manages and maintains the Accounting Department in short and long-term priorities. The Controller uses analytics to create budgets, control expenses, and maintains the business' accounting health. They must identify proactive solutions to satisfy needs, and successfully implement them. The Controller will oversee the Accounting Department and ensure that all accounting is done accurately, and in a timely fashion with continuous status updates to leadership.
Essential Job Functions
Have a strong understanding of fiscal policy and regulations
Manage accounting procedures
Analyze trends to reduce financial risks associated with making investment or spending decisions
Ensures the company complies with laws and regulations, including tax compliance
Developing plans for growth to increase company profit while also reducing expenditure
Able to prepare and analyze period-ending reporting
Preparing and processing company tax filings
Create usable budgets for the business, including evaluation of the needs of each department in the long term
Offer advice to leadership regarding spending and budget questions
Hire and oversee Accounting Department, including giving directions and delivering evaluations.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises team of accounting professionals
Skills/Experience/Training Required
Bachelor's Degree in Finance and 5 years in a senior manager role, Master's Degree in Finance or Business preferred
CPA certification preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proven success as a people manager
