We are currently looking for a Preconstruction / Design Manager for a very reputable client in the Northern Virginia market. Our client performs design build projects for the federal government.
- We desire a candidate with experience from the proposal stage, conceptual design phase, through the construction documents phase. We would expect you to be able to perform the following;
- Develop strategies to maximize value for our client's customers
- Create project work breakdown structure for estimates. You will need to provide / procur accurate and competitive cost estimates for the assigned projects. You will be asked to prepare bid packages and RFP's. You will evaluate the bid proposal to ensure contractor bids meet the project's scope, budget, and specifications.
- You must be able to manage designers and trade subcontractors
- Cooridinating of meetings and attending bid and preconstruction meetings
- Having a degree in architecture is a plus but not mandetory
- You will review documents for compliance with budget and standards
We are looking for a strong communicator and team player. You must have a comprehensive knowledge of building construction, site development, and construction systems. The idea canddiate will have 5-10 years of experience. We prefer candidates with experience in design-build projects, federal work, and / or healthcare projects.
